A. Not all hōjicha is created equal. Other brands typically only use low grade tea leaves and the final product will predominantly consist of stems. Our hōjichauses only the highest quality tea leaves which arecarefully selected and roasted by Japan’s only dedicated hōjicha tea master, bringing out a clean, fresh aroma, rich flavour, and low caffeine profile. From leaf to cup, every step is designed to preserve the richness, tradition and quality that other brands can’t match.

Our tea comes from Tsuchiyama, a historic tea-growing region in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The area is famous for its pristine water, rich soil and ideal climate, which produce leaves with naturally rich aroma and depth. We partner directly with a tea master who has dedicated his life to hōjicha, ensuring every leaf meets our exacting standards.

Properly stored, loose-leaf hōjicha and powder stays fresh for several months, allowing you to enjoy every cup at its best.
